"Pride Pots: Splayed Open" This form is created through the use a common plaster mold and ubiquitous vase form. I discovered through working (thinking through making) that I could shape-shift the vessel by splaying it open and binding it with a mold strap to cast as an open face mold. This brings attention to the "inside" as opposed to the "outside" that we are able to see when viewing a closed form.
